What To Choose

Center Fold Hem Tag:

These labels have a center fold and the edges are heat sealed, to prevent fraying. You would wrap this label around the bottom hem of your t-shirt/beanie and top sew a tad below the top heat sealed part. The heat sealed part will be visible externally and will be a little rough to the touch.

Manhattan Fold Hem Tag:

These labels have a top and bottom fold and a center fold as well. This label is applied in the same manner as the center fold hem tag. It is wrapped around the bottom hem of the T-shirt/beanie and top sew along the top folded part. It gives a neat finished look as the edges are folded in and will be smooth to the touch.

WHAT TO CHOOSE: Sewing method is the same for both labels. You choose between the two styles, based on the look and finish you desire.

Twill Base:

Twill material is a thick canvas like fabric with a textured pattern. It has thin lines running all the way in the fabric. The edges fray and hence it has to be finished with a satin stitch or merrow border.

Felt Base:

Felt is a slightly fuzzy material that consists of condensed fabric pressed together. The edges do not fray and hence it can be used as such after laser cutting. Felt brings a classic vintage look to the patch.

WHAT TO CHOOSE: Intricate designs will show up better in the Twill base as opposed to Felt base where it could get lost in the fuzziness of the fabric.

Merrow Border:

A patch’s edge can be finished with a neat close merrow stitch. A merrow stitch is a tightly sewn chain stitch around the border. Has a crisp neat finished look

Satin Stitch:

This is a sequence of closely sewn zig zag stitch. It is sewn tight and secure around the border.
WHAT TO CHOOSE: Purely aesthetical choice as either would work for a patch to give a finished look.

Woven Patch:

Artwork is woven with yarn to create the patch. Minute intricate details from the artwork can be created into a beautiful woven patch

Embroidered Label:

Embroidery thread is used to stitch the artwork on to the felt or twill base as chosen. It gives a textured look and feel and you can feel the design as you run your fingers across.
WHAT TO CHOOSE: Intricate design can be achieved precisely with woven patch as opposed to the embroidered patch. Given the same artwork and size of the patch, Woven form would look crisp and clean. Alternatively an embroidered patch looks classy due to the depth and dimension.

Woven Label:

Artwork is woven with yarn to create the label. Minute intricate details from the artwork can be created into a beautiful woven label. Woven labels do not fade even with multiple washes. They will certainly outlive the garments life. Gradient colors are not possible with woven label.

Printed Label:

Printed labels are printed on Taffeta, Satin, Twill or Cotton base. In a printed label, small details turn out really great. It is very similar to printing with a laser printer. For artwork with gradient colors, Sublimation printing works the best. Unlike woven labels, printed labels do fade over time. They will approximately last for 20-30 washes and will gradually start wearing off thereafter.
WHAT TO CHOOSE: For labels with very fine details, Printed label is the best option. Satin & Cotton printed label are ideal for newborn and kids clothing as they give a soft feel when in contact with the skin. Woven labels cause minor irritation to skin when compared with the printed labels. When weighing the life of the label, woven label cant be beat. No fading or color bleed. With these details in mind, you can choose the label that would work for your application
